1. City of Angels(1998)I had already watched some of the movies those websites suggested like Sleepless in Seattle, Titanic, When Harry met Sally...I didn't watch those again. I wanted to put my own short reviews about these six movies but then these are all kind of old ones so no point in me doing it.
2. The Notebook(2004)
3. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind(2004)
4. Casablanca(1942)
5. Love Story(1970)
6. The Holiday(2006)
7. Pride & Prejudice(2005)
By the way I haven't stopped watching romantic movies so if you guys have any suggestion please let me know.

Yesterday my brother and I decided to go there for dinner.Since we live in different places,we planned to meet in front of it. So as I was waiting for him I thought I'd watch the video to increase my appetite(so smart of me!).
He came so late that by the time he came the video lost its 'magic' and I had lost my appetite. It was like watching too much porn in one sitting!
I found this analogy quite funny that all I could think of during dinner was about posting this on my blog...which reminded me of this comic strip.

This really shook my world. It is my story. I got the answers to questions that intrigued me for years.
I was so disturbed (and excited) after reading it that I went around asking everyone I knew to read it too. So here I am posting it on my blog, hoping this might help someone.
Cheers!

These days I'm busy looking for a place to stay near my university so I make a lot of calls to find suitable place. I made a call to a Chinese(or is it Singaporean??!) lady Ms Wong to ask abt ad she posted. She asked about my whereabouts,
Ms Wong: How long have you been in Singapore?
I : 7months
Ms Wong : How long will you be here?
I: 4years
Ms Wong: Which country are you from?
I: India
(I could feel some hesitation from her side...but then I thought may be she prefers a Chinese, may thats more comfortable for her......which is fine and normal!)
I: So what time can I come to your place?
Ms Wong: eehh....before that I have one more question to ask....errrr......some people from India...errr..(I thought she was gonna say people from India steal or never tidy their room....) err...are so dark.......Are you so dark?!
I: HAHAHAHA....i dunno...you can see me when I come..HAHAHA
( I (in my mind) : WTF???!!!! :-| )
May be Fair&Lovely can use this as their new ad !
Update
I passed the 'darkness' test...
She gave me some 'pacifying' words too..."Most people will straight away say 'No' to Indians. I'm a good person so I offered to see you first..." :-|
I'm not going there!

it takes a genius to do all things the right way all the time...making all the 'wrong' moves is equally brilliant.
we are so rigid and incapable of thinking beyond societal standards that those who dont conform to these standards are dubbed losers.

but this 'cut-paste' syndrome is not limited to me only i've noticed this in couple of websites too even popular ones. one such site is rediff.com!..sometimes i get the feeling its equivalent to a yellow paper in the cyberworld. but then again cudnt find a better site to get the cricket score update!
speaking of which, what a shameful loss to the aussies....india has lost several times before but the speciality of this time was that indian team were acting as if they were 'world champions' ...yea true they won the T20 world cup but they forgot..its T20!! i was telling my friend recently that i felt it was an another improvised version of cricket like we used to play back in high school. in high we had made a game called 'Leg cricket' ...where we 'bat' with our leg! we were 'world champions' in that..i dont think even the aussies can beat us!! ;)
there are loads of stories that happend in school which i think i can compile into a book!...i believe my school years were the best phase of my life. i 'lived' there for 12yrs..it was home for me. oh! recently i was reading the book 'Swami and friends' of R.K.Narayan..it was a treat to read it. the way in which he has described each incident was simply superb..i believe he succeeded in bringing out the exact emotions and thoughts a child would have in a given situation...he described almost every single minute detail in the simplest language..and i think thats the beauty about the book! i never knew childhood incident could this worthy of writing!
The closest i've come to reading to such stories was from my dad. who has a thousand stories tell and can write it equally well. actually i found my dads narration a bit more entertaining but i believe thats because all the characters in his stories are very much known to me.

Today i attended the talk by the 1992 Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry, Prof. Rudolph A. Marcus! he visited our university...WOW! i feel this was like one of the best experience i ever had....all this while i've only read about nobel laureates...and now i get to see and hear from them. i dont think i'd have got such an opportunity had i been in my home country!

May be it’s been more than 100 years since the first aeroplane took flight but a little more than a decade ago two kids of the age 8 and 9 set out to build the aeroplane from scratch! Having been witness to a couple of construction works and hence having access to a lot of raw materials they felt greatly “blessed” and all set for flying the first aircraft in their small sleepy locality. They discussed late into the night about the travails of an engineer trying to build an aircraft. To them, flying was certainty; the main problem was the overhead transmission lines!! “What if we crash into that?!”. They hadn’t got over their “shocking” experience after inserting a metal wire into the plug point…appazha 11kV line!
Encyclopaedia Britannica was their reference esp. the picture of Wright brothers craft. They studied the picture for days to unravel the secret of flight. To build a flying plane in the primitive form, all that was required was 2 wooden planks and a network of rods to hold them apart!! They also had two posters of Airbus 320’s in their hand..just in case they wanted to go for an upgrade!
Thus the construction work began the next day.
For them, that day was the most important day in the history of mankind.
From morning till evening, for about a week, all that could be heard was sound of the hammer striking the wood, and some occasional verbal arguments.
“Oh! look what have you done?!! You haven’t left space for the pilot to sit! “.They had hit their first obstacle. But they had read that it took about 3000 trial for
Their parents used to look on and wonder “What are these guys doing??...wasting all the ply wood and nails!...hmm…let them do it may be one day might invent something!”.
Finally the “plane” was ready. But again, ”how will we move this plane forward with great speed?! That’s how planes fly right ?.. they run with great speed then lift the front part of the plane and there it goes! Hmm…so how are we gonna do that?!”. A “brilliant” idea came to their minds. “Yes, lets carry this plane on our bicycle and ride the cycle down the slope and when the plane just begins to fly, we’ll hold on to the plane!!”. With all plans set, they carried their plane and took the cycle along with them to the top of the slope. But still again “how are we gonna land?!”. They felt may be an umbrella will help!! They did a couple of tests with umbrella by jumping from top of the compound wall with no success. “appam ee cartoon-il kannikunathokke veruthe!”, they concluded.
“The plane has to be tested. Someone had to do it even if it meant risking our lives” they thought. They decided the pilot will have a rope around his waist and the one on ground will hold the other end. The eldest of the two volunteered to be the “pilot” and the younger one the “ground staff”. At last the flight was going to be a reality. Holding the “plane” in front, the pilot rode the bicycle as hard as he could. He started gaining speed, sensing some lift on the plane, tightly holding on to the plane he jumped from the cycle.
The ground staff looks in the air, then, looks on the ground. A plane crash.
The pilot escaped with some minor injuries. But he felt no pain. All that mattered to him was the plane and its relics.
That night they understood…..”May be, building a plane is too much for us……so, from tomorrow onwards we’ll start our work on a helicopter”!!
Well, the chief architect of this experiment is now in Singapore, and his junior will soon join him...lets wait and see if the next phase of it take place there!
Signing off,
Vineet

here its 8hrs class and lab with just a 1hr break in b/w....so very lil time is wasted.
wat else to say....so far so good!!
right frm the very day i joined engg, there was a sea change in my attitude.minimal studies..maximum fun! that was my motto.i cud bring up a million arguments supporting my changed ways but always at the back of my mind i knew this isnt wot is expected frm me...this isnt wot i am made for.i am certainly made for great things....and i knew it.
