Kung Fu online store!

  • Jun. 26th, 2008 at 7:05 PM
Shaolin temple has setup an online store to sell its goods which include T-shirts, shoes, slippers....
"Shaolin temple is getting less and less likeable," one Internet user wrote in an essay posted on news site ifeng.com on Wednesday. "There's a giant laughing buddha in Shaolin temple. If it saw what the temple is doing these days, I'm not so sure it would still be laughing."
The traditionalists must be pulling their hairs out! If this was in some temple in India (esp. Kerala) people would have declared strike on the internet...may be even develop an application to throw stones at the online store...after all necessity is the mother of invention!
A Malaysian of Indian origin who was sentenced to 36years of prison for raping his daughter repeatedly is pleading to reduce his term...any guesses as to why?! Here's the answer
Rajah told the court the sentence should be reduced since "the accused used a condom every time he committed the offence", the New Straits Times reported Saturday.
Here's another similar news.

You Suck At Photoshop!

You Suck At Photoshop is one of the most fun and engaging tutorials I've ever tried. The narration is hillarious!

This tutorial was written about in the Time magazine "The Photohop Guys Revealed"
The series features a hapless, angry, cuckolded, mad-Photoshop-skillz-enabled narrator named Donnie Hoyle and does three things amazingly well: it gives a terrific overview of some key Photoshop techniques; it has an oddly compelling narrative; and it's wildly funny.
Don't miss this...satisfaction guaranteed!

Sreesanth was pacified!

  • Jun. 17th, 2008 at 9:02 AM
Sreesanth got into a fight with the hotel staff over a noisy air conditioner in his room.
The argument that commenced late on Sunday was finally resolved on Monday morning with the management being able to pacify Sreesanth.
Sreesanth is in Bangalore for a fitness programme. He has not spoken publicly about the incident, choosing rather to retire to his room and put up a do not disturb sign at the door.
He probably got slapped and is crying inside his room. So guys don't disturb him!

Caning on the buttocks...Ouch!!

A man in Singapore( ! ) gets 14years in jail and 18 strokes of cane for armpit sniffing!

Too smelly and may be he wanted to catch the culprit!

And hope he doesn't forget the words "if anyone slaps on your cheek show him your other cheek too"!

Fodder for the cinema world

Talwar family pleads not to make tele-serial on Arushi.

When the news of the murder came in the media, one of the thoughts that came to my mind was "most probably Suresh Gopi will make a movie on this twin murder case!"

Why are kids so crazy about animals?

  • Jun. 6th, 2008 at 3:39 PM
I had bookmarked this article for more than a month back and totally forgot to post it. Don't forget to read the comment section for a variety of views. After reading those comments, my mind is stuck in their views and I can't think of anything else! So if you want to think for yourself dont read the comment seciton now!

One of the comment I liked:

Dear Prof. Dubner,
Instead of asking a bunch of NY Times reading grown ups why children are so crazy about animals, why not ask children? It would make for far more interesting data.

"...bespeaks unutterable squalor"

Atheists caught having sex in cathedral.

They were caught in the act in a confession box. I guess they were too "oral" in their sins!

Listen to what the bishop had to say "an outrage of notable proportions which bespeaks unutterable squalor." Errr...sorry? could say that in english?! :-/

Oh! and here too they are planning to purify the church!

Heavier than air!

Last day the Delhi High Court upheld the policy of Indian Airlines to ground over-weight air hostess.

I've travelled only once in Indian Airlines and other than the poor service, the other thing that caught my attention was this: the sir hostesses and stewards are really old and fat! I heard even they have a union so its difficult to kick them out. hmmm....

I remember when my brother came home from Singapore for the first time since comment on the Air India(or is it Indian Alirlines?) service was "Such motherly care!"

'Hypermilers'

Wayne Gerdes gets 50 miles per gallon(mpg) from his Honda Accord using his hypermiling technique. This is how he fights global warming. A good, informative article.
